About the Journal

Journal of Corrosion and Coatings is an international peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal dedicated to research and technological development in corrosion science, protective coatings, surface engineering, material degradation, corrosion monitoring, integrity management, and durability of engineering materials and structures.

The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, experimental studies, numerical investigations, engineering applications, and interdisciplinary studies across four principal areas: Corrosion Science and Electrochemical Processes; Protective Coatings and Surface Engineering; Corrosion Protection, Monitoring and Integrity; and Materials Durability and Engineering Applications.

The journal particularly welcomes research addressing corrosion mechanisms, electrochemical behavior, atmospheric and marine corrosion, localized corrosion, stress-corrosion cracking, microbial corrosion, corrosion inhibitors, cathodic protection, protective paints and coatings, metallic and ceramic coatings, polymeric and nanostructured coatings, self-healing coatings, surface modification, corrosion monitoring, nondestructive evaluation, sensors, risk-based inspection, failure analysis, remaining-life assessment, predictive maintenance, and digital technologies for corrosion management.

Engineering applications may include marine and offshore structures, ships, pipelines, oil and gas facilities, renewable-energy systems, industrial equipment, transportation infrastructure, bridges, civil structures, and other environments where corrosion, coating performance, degradation, reliability, and service-life extension are important.

Interdisciplinary contributions from materials science, metallurgy, chemistry, electrochemistry, mechanical engineering, marine and offshore engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, sensors, artificial intelligence, reliability engineering, and environmental science are welcome when they demonstrate a clear contribution to corrosion behavior, protective coatings, surface durability, material degradation, structural integrity, or service-life performance.
